Everything here is designed with your baby (and you!) in mind. Cosy, welcoming, and totally baby-friendly, it’s a place where laughter echoes, little feet wiggle, and cake is always welcome.
And yes—this is still your haven, even with frosting on the floor.
Your baby sets the pace, always. Need time to warm up? We’ll play. Feeling shy? We’ll ease in gently. We follow your little one’s lead to make sure they feel safe, happy, and ready to shine—pausing for cuddles, drinks, or a quick reset whenever needed.
I also love when families bring something meaningful to include in their session—a favourite book, a beloved toy, or even a family heirloom. These little details turn your images into something so much more than portraits. They become your story, captured at one of life’s happiest milestones.

Cake smash sessions are held in my Blue Mountains studio and are super fun, action-packed sessions. And that’s before we add a cake smash to the mix. In fact, it doesn’t even have to be a cake smash. Your baby’s photography session can be anything you want.
Another awesome feature of Cake Smash sessions is that they are SO flexible.
You can include family and siblings in the photography session.
So you can make your baby’s cake smash photography session fun for the whole family.
Just quietly…if you decide to jump in on the cake smash section of the shoot and assist with the cake eating, that is TOTALLY acceptable.

Ideally, book your session at least a few weeks in advance—especially if you’d like to use the images for birthday invitations. This allows enough time for your gallery to be edited and ready to go

This is a GREAT question. Babies favourite food that can be added to the back of the cake to entice them if needed. A change of clothes…for EVERYONE – haha.

But here’s the secret: any reaction is a good reaction.
Whether they’re giggling with joy, poking curiously at the cake, diving in face-first, or giving us the most serious side-eye—we want them reacting and interacting. That’s where the magic is.
With over 20 years of experience photographing little personalities, I know how to gently guide the session while following your baby’s lead. Some take a few minutes to warm up, others dive right in—but every expression tells a story worth capturing.
These sessions aren’t about perfection—they’re about personality. And no matter how your baby responds, we’ll capture the joy, the wonder, and the essence of who they are at this unforgettable milestone.
